As America Turns 250, Indianapolis Must Lean into the Hard Work Ahead
As America celebrates 250 years, Indianapolis Foundation is celebrating 110 years of serving our city.
This July 4, our nation will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It is a moment for celebration, and honest reflection. For two and a half centuries, America has wrestled with what it means to live up to our highest ideals. That question has been tested through war, peace, the end of slavery, the struggle for civil rights, economic hardship, and extraordinary progress. Yet generation after generation, people have continued to believe in the promise of this country; not because it was perfect, but because it was worth building. That same spirit must guide Indianapolis today.
