For more than 50 years, Lockerbie Square Neighborhood Association Foundation (previously the Lockerbie Square People’s Club) has worked together to preserve, protect and promote the historical integrity and character of the neighborhood while fostering a strong sense of community and ensuring a thriving neighborhood for the future.
Now, we’re taking the next step in this journey: Building Legacy.
The Lockerbie Square Neighborhood Foundation has established a permanent endowment fund with Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). This Fund ensures we can support neighborhood expenses for generations to come, with earnings from the fund providing annual support, while the original gift continues to grow.
The Fund will advance the Association’s vision to be a thriving and inclusive neighborhood association that actively engages residents, advocates for neighborhood interests and ensures the long-term preservation of its historical significance.
Why Give to the Lockerbie Square Endowment?
To protect what we’ve built—and keep it growing.
An endowment is like a savings account that works harder. Each year, approximately 4–5% of the fund will be distributed to support Lockerbie Square efforts while the principal remains invested and continues growing.
That means a one-time gift of $5,000 could provide $250 every year—forever.
By pooling our fund with CICF’s robust portfolio, our investments have access to sophisticated management with higher long-term potential. We can also accept complex gift donations such as stock, real estate, closely held business, tangible personal property, and collectibles.
The Purpose of the Lockerbie Square Endowment is to advance the strategic priorities and needs of the neighborhood including but not limited to:
- Educating and increasing awareness of architectural and cultural significance of the neighborhood
- Enhancing neighborhood beatification
- Fostering community engagement
